Cinema FV-5 Lite is an app for professional video recording on mobile devices, which puts a multitude of manual recording controls at your fingertips. The app is especially designed for film fanatics, filmmakers and budding filmmakers, allowing you to capture the best footage with the most advanced controls.
The Cinema FV-5 Lite interface can be a bit overwhelming at first, as it tries to emulate that of professional video cameras. However, not only are most of the controls easy to learn, but the app itself has an introductory tutorial and a help document consisting of almost forty pages. It is not essential to read this document, of course, but you will find very useful information to get the most out of the app's recording options.
With Cinema FV-5 Lite you can adjust all image parameters in the same way as you would on a traditional professional video camera. You will be able to adjust exposure compensation, ISO, light metering modes (Matrix/Center/Point), focus modes and white balance. It is also important to note that it allows you to modify sensor parameters (such as ISO or white balance) even during recording, without having to stop the recording.
The app has a professional viewer, with more than 10 composition grids, and more than 10 available cropping guides. You will also have live histograms in luminance or RGB, which can also be activated (or deactivated) even during recording. All these options can be easily activated and customized from the options menu.
Thanks to the professional sound meter you will be able to see the audio signal level, with its peak zones and clipping alarm during recording. You can also use any audio signal as input to incorporate into the video: the device's microphone or an external microphone (either via cable or Bluetooth). And, of course, you can choose the codec for both video and audio, as well as the video or audio sampling rates, where you can also select the number of channels.
Cinema FV-5 Lite is an excellent video recording app, offering a huge amount of features, thanks to which you can transform your Android device into a professional video camera, almost as if by magic. The only thing you should be aware of when using the app, however, is that some cameras on relatively older devices may not be compatible with many of the features.
